Substitute Head Start Cook at Mounds Head Start

Join to apply for the Substitute Head Start Cook at Mounds Head Start role at SOUTHERN SEVEN HEALTH DEPARTMENT.

This is a full-time (10 months/year) position based at the Vienna Head Start in Vienna, Illinois. It includes a benefits package (personal and sick time accrual, holidays, health and life insurance, and an employer-sponsored cafeteria plan).

The position is responsible for the safe preparation and delivery of CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) approved meals to infants, toddlers, and children enrolled in the program.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, at least 18 years of age, and a current Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification. Food service experience is preferred.

Job Duties
  • Prepares meals for children using provided menus and recipes.
  • Completes requisitions for food and supplies.
  • Drives to pick up local supplies (mileage reimbursed).
  • Maintains accurate inventory records.
  • Unloads and stores food deliveries according to guidelines.
  • Submits required paperwork on time.
  • Maintains a sanitary kitchen meeting food safety standards.
  • Makes food substitutions meeting CACFP guidelines and documents them.
  • Accommodates special diets and food allergies.
  • Attends staff meetings and trainings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
