Position Overview

The Watertown Public School District is seeking Substitute Food Service Workers to assist in providing nutritious, attractive meals in accordance with established menus, recipes, and government regulations of the National School Lunch/Breakfast Program.

  • Type: Per Diem (short notice assignments)
  • Department: School Nutrition/Food Services
  • Location: Districtwide
  • Reports to: Director of School Nutrition/Kitchen Manager
  • Salary: $17.69/hr
Responsibilities
  • Report to work on time as scheduled
  • Assist with food preparation, serving, and meal accounting
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and work areas
  • Set up serving lines and serve meals according to portion sizes
  • Unpack supplies and stock storage shelves
  • Wash dishes, trays, utensils, and clean dining areas
  • Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
  • Perform quality control checks
  • Communicate any issues with products or procedures
  • Work effectively in a team environment
  • Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
  • Ability to accept instructions and work collaboratively
  • Effective communication skills
  • Physical ability to walk, stand, reach, stoop, lift (up to 50 lbs), and perform other physical tasks
  • Reliable and flexible with tasks and schedules
