Job summary

Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational High School is hiring for a food service position to prepare, cook, and serve meals in a fast-paced school environment.

The role requires ability to maintain clean facilities, operate food service equipment, and handle money accurately, with physical ability to lift 25–40 lbs. Degree preferred or experience in food service. Citizenship or work visa required. Hourly rate of $22.50.

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to situation
• Maintain food service facilities and equipment in a neat, clean, safe and sanitary condition
• Prepare, serve and sell foods and snacks
• Assist in the cleaning of the kitchen and serving areas, utensils and equipment
• Other related work as required

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

• Basic methods of preparing and serving foods in large quantities
• Type A lunch and breakfast program requirements
• Standard food service appliances and equipment
• Lunch and breakfast program requirements
• Arithmetical calculation processes and simple record keeping procedures

Ability to:

• Operate a variety of food service equipment
• Collect money and make change accurately
• Work quickly and efficiently
• Understand and carry out oral and written directions
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
• Walking or standing for extended periods
• Lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects from 25-40lbs

Degree Preferred and/or experience preferred
