Sonnet Montessori in Iowa seeks a Substitute Educator to support classrooms when regular teachers are absent. You'll help maintain a safe, nurturing environment and follow established routines.

Responsibilities include assisting with meals, rest, diapering, supervising children, and using the parent communication app to document daily needs and updates for families. Starting pay is $17 to $20 per hour, with potential for future part-time or full-time opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pass a background check.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and supervise children.
• Flexibility to accept sub shifts and adapt to schedule changes; must work at least 5 shifts per month.

Responsibilities

• Fill in for Lead or Assistant Educators following lesson plans and routines.
• Supervise and engage children at all times, maintaining state ratios.
• Support daily routines: meals, rest, diapering/toileting, activities.
• Use the parent communication app to document daily needs, observations, and updates for families.
• Foster a safe, nurturing environment and model positive behaviors.
• Help maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and safety.
• Report accidents or suspected child abuse as required by law.
• Greet families at drop-off and pick-up, coordinating with the Lead Teacher or Director.
