Job summary

Jordan Public Schools is seeking a Substitute Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and the public across the district.

The role supports the Facilities Director and may involve supervising summer staff while ensuring adherence to district maintenance procedures. Lifting up to 75 pounds may be required; high school diploma or equivalent is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensure or licensure in progress a plus.
• Lift up to 75 pounds with no physical restrictions.
• Experience with school district maintenance procedures and policies.
• Maintain confidentiality, professionalism and appropriate dress and appearance.
• Team player with the ability to create a welcoming environment.
• Willingness to learn district maintenance systems (e.g., electronic maintenance request system).
• Detail oriented.

Qualifications:

• High School Degree earned or equivalent experience.
• Licensure or licensure in progress a plus.
• Good physical condition, ability to work in confined areas (ie: boiler room) and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds with no physical restrictions.
• Experience working with school district maintenance, procedures, methods and policies and the ability to properly instruct and oversee subordinates (ie: summer help).
• Maintain confidentiality, professionalism and appropriate dress and appearance.
• Personal attributes necessary for working within a team setting and creating an inviting and welcoming environment.
• Knowledge of computer programs and willingness to learn specific systems used within the district (ex: electronic maintenance request system).
