Position: SUBSTITUTE BUILDING CUSTODIANS

Reports to: District Maintenance and Operations Supervisor

Salary Range: $21.68 per hour

Basic Function: On-Call Substitute as needed.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintain cleanliness and order in school premises, including mopping, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet cleaning, and applying floor finishes.
• Sanitize restrooms/showers, empty waste baskets, wash windows, walls, and woodwork.
• Change light bulbs, unplug drains, and perform minor repairs.
• Operate mechanical equipment and tools, set up for meals, assist with inventory, and support maintenance tasks.
• Adhere to district policies, demonstrate pride in work, and ensure regular attendance and punctuality.

Additional duties:

Use power equipment and hand tools for cleaning and maintenance, clean and sanitize fixtures, handle spills, and keep facilities in excellent condition. Perform minor maintenance and repairs, conduct inspections, and interact professionally with staff and students. Support meal setup and supervision as needed.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow safety instructions.
• Experience with custodial tasks and ability to operate related tools and equipment.
• Good attendance, dependability, and punctuality.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform other physical tasks.
• Valid Washington driver’s license; background checks required.
