Hastings ISD 200 is seeking a Substitute Crossing Guard / Traffic Control Agent to assist and direct students crossing streets, creating a safe route to school. The role operates during school hours and requires vigilance and calm under varied weather conditions.

Responsibilities include evaluating procedures for walkers, coordinating with school staff, and promoting safety at all times. A high school diploma and successful background check are required; hours are morning and afternoon student

Job Responsibilities:

• Assists and directs students crossing streets in order to provide a safe environment for students to walk to school.
• Suggests improvements in the procedures for students who walk to school and cross the street so that safety methods are continually evaluated and revised if appropriate.
• Promotes safety at all times to minimize accidents.
• May work with the Police School Resource Officer on safety procedures or problems.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to maintain a calm demeanor with students and drivers.
• Comfortable working in a wide range of weather conditions.
• Completion of a background check.

Hours:

• Student Contact Days
• AM 7:30AM-8:50AM
• PM 2:30PM-3:45PM
• $17.50/hr
• This position does not qualify for benefits.
