Job summary

The Henry County School District is seeking a food service worker to join our school kitchen team and support meal preparation and service for students and staff. You will help maintain clean equipment and work areas while assisting with cooking duties as needed, under supervisor guidance.

This position requires a HS diploma or GED, the ability to read simple instructions, basic math skills, and the ability to stand and lift up to 50 pounds.

STARTING DATE: 2026 / 2027 School Year

RANGE OF PAY: $16.69 / Hour

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare and maintain food service as directed. Serve food to students and staff in an efficient and pleasant manner. Maintain cleanliness and functional operation of equipment. Perform cooking duties with the cooperation of other kitchen workers. Assist with the clean up of kitchen equipment, counters, walls, floors, dishes, utensils, and other items as assigned by supervisor.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS: HS diploma or GED, ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, basic math skills, prior food service experience helpful. Must have the ability to interact well with students and staff and to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Lifting up to 50 pounds and the ability to stand for lengthy periods of time are required.
