Job summary

Central Consolidated Schools is seeking a Cook to supervise school lunch, breakfast and after-school snacks at the assigned school kitchen. The role ensures compliance with all applicable federal/state/local and district regulations for food preparation, storage and service, and is responsible for the site’s fiscal accounting.

Key duties include meal preparation, portioning, serving, paperwork assistance, equipment reporting, and adherence to HACCP rules.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of NM Dine language, culture, and history preferred.
  • Good communication skills and customer service skills.
  • Ability to operate a calculator and have good math skills.
  • Ability to follow a recipe.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food for the Food Service program.
  • Portion and serve nutritious and attractive food.
  • Friendly and helpful to students and staff.
  • Perform daily and heavy cleaning.
  • Assist with all required paperwork.
  • Report needed equipment and facility repairs.
  • Follow Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point regulations.
  • Follow all federal/state/local/district rules and regulations.
  • Accept other responsibilities and duties assigned by supervisor.
  • Support district and school efforts to keep CCSD safe and secure.
  • Complete and comply with all required trainings annually.
  • Adhere to NM Code of Ethical Responsibility of the Education Profession (NMAC 6.60.9.8).
  • Other duties as assigned, reasonably related to the scope of the position

Summary

Physical/Job Requirements
