Applications are continuously being accepted for this position and may be used to fill vacancies which may occur in the GST BOCES Region.

Position Details

Substitute cleaners are needed for all GST BOCES campuses to work on an on-call, as-needed basis. This is an all-year position. The shift is generally from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., with some flexibility.

Responsibilities

The following work activities are examples and are not limited to:

1. Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping
2. Washing windows, walls, woodwork, water closets, tubs, and bowls
3. Gathering and disposing of refuse
4. Using heavy mechanical equipment to strip, polish, and wash floors
5. Opening and securing buildings
6. Varnishing, shellacking, and polishing furniture and brass
7. Tending the furnace
8. Performing minor maintenance tasks such as unskilled painting or carpentry
9. Replacing lights, hanging window shades, and Venetian blinds
10. Performing all other duties as assigned
