  • Follow daily lesson plans, routines, and classroom schedules left by the regular teacher.
  • Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all children, maintaining supervision at all times.
  • Engage children in developmentally appropriate activities that foster creativity, learning, and growth.
  • Manage classroom behavior and handle emergencies calmly and professionally.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and staff as necessary.
  • Assist with basic administrative tasks, including recording attendance, incident reports, and other necessary documentation.
  • Adhere to all center policies, regulations, and safety protocols.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field preferred.
  • Experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting (at least 6 months preferred).
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient attitude.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to different classroom environments.
  • Must live locally or within a reasonable distance from the childcare center for prompt availability.
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible—able to respond to last-minute calls for emergency coverage.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in an on-call or substitute role is a plus.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices.

Working Hours & Availability:
  • This position is on-call and requires flexibility to respond to emergency staffing needs.
  • Shifts may vary but generally range from 4 to 8 hours per day.
  • Availability during regular working hours (e.g., 7 AM – 6 PM) is preferred, with the potential for short notice calls.

Compensation:
  • Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
  • Opportunity to work in a supportive, collaborative environment.
