Job summary

Regional School Unit 24 seeks qualified substitute school bus drivers to join our on-call pool. Responsibilities include safely transporting students on substitute routes, adhering to schedules and district policies, and maintaining a positive, reliable presence for the students and staff.

Pay starts at $24.50 per hour on July 1, 2026, with increases based on years of driving experience; training is offered to support new and returning drivers.

Qualifications

• Must have a ten-year clean driving record.
• Must hold Maine CDL with bus endorsements (P & S).
• Must hold a current Maine Dept of Education Criminal History Records Check.

Responsibilities

• Drive substitute bus routes on-call as needed.
• Provide safe, reliable transportation for students.
• Attend training sessions as available.
