Location: Idaho Falls and other areas including Weiser, Caldwell, Mountain Home, Gooding, Twin Falls, Burley, Aberdeen

Position Details:

  • Hired temporarily to support the workforce or specific projects
  • Not eligible for benefits, holiday pay, or paid time off
  • Transition to other employee types requires agency hiring procedures

Duration: Seasonal Full-Time, 5-8 months

Responsibilities:

  • Provide school bus transportation for children, parents, and passengers
  • Operate and inspect school buses, adhere to traffic and safety laws
  • Understand routes, maps, schedules, and manuals
  • Complete reports, inspections, and maintenance logs
  • Conduct safety drills and provide training to staff and volunteers
  • Report maintenance issues

Additional Duties:

  • Operate custodial equipment and perform minor bus maintenance
  • Assist in setting up and cleaning after events
  • Maintain grounds and perform snow removal
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safety policies

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license meeting Idaho DOT requirements
  • Pass DOT physical and background checks including state daycare clearance
  • Proof of auto insurance, First Aid, and CPR certification
  • Minimum age 25 years

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and operate equipment; lift up to 50 pounds

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, weather, traffic hazards; moderate noise level
