Substitute Bus Driver - $25.50/hr.- 24-25 School Year

This position reports to the Coordinator of Transportation and takes direction from the Fleet Manager.

Summary

Provides safe and efficient transportation for students on routes as directed.

Salary

$25.50/hr.

Essential Functions
  • Operates School Bus in compliance with all Federal and State DOT requirements.
  • Maintains student order and discipline according to district policies.
  • Performs pre and post trip vehicle inspections as per PA Motor Vehicle Code.
  • Follows routes as directed, notifying of any deviations or unsafe conditions.
  • Maintains route documentation and completes mileage logs accurately.
  • Ensures bus cleanliness and communicates vehicle repairs to garage staff.
  • Attends required training and maintains professional interactions with stakeholders.
  • Communicates student behavioral issues and assigns seating as directed.
  • Documents worked hours and submits to drug/alcohol testing as required.
  • Adheres to all policies and performs additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Preferred: Pennsylvania CDL Driver’s license with School Bus and Air Brake endorsements (will train if needed).
  • Clean driving record for the past three years; no DUI or felony records related to motor vehicle operation.
  • Able to pass annual physical and render aid in emergencies.
  • Must read and speak English.

  • Physical ability to perform required tasks, with exertion levels ranging from sedentary to very heavy work, as detailed.
