GFT, a leader in the AEC industry, is seeking a Substation Structural Engineer in Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you'll lead utility and power substation projects, develop designs, and cultivate client relationships. The ideal candidate will hold a Civil or Structural Engineering degree and have at least 8 years of relevant experience. The compensation ranges from $110,000 to $140,000 and includes a comprehensive benefits package, including hybrid work options and professional development support.
Qualifications
8+ years of progressive experience in design, engineering, and project management in the power and utility industry.
Experience in the creation of quality technical solutions and design delivery of major power delivery projects.
Interest in or experience working in the consulting engineering profession.
Responsibilities
Develop substation structural steel and foundation drawings on new and existing substations.
Prepare specifications for substation structural materials.
Collaborate internally to pursue power substation projects regionally and nationally.
Skills
Design experience in high voltage substation and transmission projects
Project management software proficiency
Client relationship development

Education
Bachelor's degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering
Professional Engineer license or on the path to obtaining licensure
