HDR is seeking a Substation Site Civil Engineer to join the Power Delivery team in North Carolina. You will lead site civil design, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliant, high-quality substation projects from concept through commissioning.
Preferred qualifications include a PE license and 5+ years of experience in high voltage substation design. Travel may be required as HDR serves utility clients nationwide.

At HDR, the Substation Site Civil Engineer is a key contributor within the Power Delivery team, providing engineering design and technical support for high‑voltage substation projects. This role supports HDR’s mission to deliver safe, resilient, and high‑quality infrastructure solutions for utility and energy clients. The engineer will work in a collaborative, multi‑discipline environment and contribute to projects across their full lifecycle—from conceptual design through construction and commissioning support.
