Job summary

Tampa Electric seeks an experienced engineer to provide engineering and operations support for substation structures and equipment on major capital projects. You will oversee contractor work, ensure TEC standards, and coordinate with internal teams to deliver reliable energy delivery.

Required are a BS in Engineering (ABET) or accepted Engineering Technology degree, FE eligibility in Florida, and 2+ years in power system engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering required or Engineering Technology degree accepted.
• Eligible to obtain FE in Florida within first 2 years of employment.
• Senior/Principal levels require 8+ years of power system engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and operations support for substation structures and equipment.
• Oversee contractor engineering work and ensure TEC standards are met.
• Develop equipment specs, site layouts, and foundation designs for substations.
• Support major storm restorations with field assessments and repairs.
