Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking engineers for Protection or Controls roles to support substation projects in the Indiana Territory. The team focuses on protection, control, SCADA, and automation systems for transmission substations and switchyards.

The role includes development through commissioning, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and opportunities to grow into more advanced responsibilities. Onsite and hybrid work options are available, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program. A master’s degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. engineering degree.
• 2 years minimum required engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Protection Engineer Responsibilities: Perform Protection Calculations and Coordination to protect the grid; Maintain Relay Database for Midwest Relay assets and settings; Support compliance activities related to relay setting and coordination; Interface with Relay Technicians to support install and commissioning of settings; Conduct studies and coordinate changes via meetings; Maintain accurate records and files; Support company goals and represent the company positively.
