Job summary

Enercon Services, Inc. is seeking a Substation Designer – Protection & Controls to join our Power Delivery team across multiple office locations (Dallas, Houston, Orlando, Tampa, Palm Beach Gardens) or remote.

You will draft substation protection drawings, perform design calculations, and collaborate with engineers to deliver safe, reliable energy infrastructure.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in substation design, with a primary focus on protection and control projects.
• Familiarity with relay protection schemes.
• Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Willingness to enter energized electric substations with proper training and PPE.
• Must be self-driven in time management to meet deadlines and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Willingness to travel for client site visits and project meetings.

Responsibilities

• Substation Design & Drafting: Develop electric substation drawings, including schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and control building layouts.
• Engineering Analysis & Calculations: Perform substation design calculations and analysis such as voltage drop and conduit fill.
• Collaboration & Quality Assurance: Work closely with peers to ensure accurate and on-time delivery of electrical design that meets client and industry standards, specifications, and good engineering practices
• Field Support: Providing on-site technical support for select ENERCON clients during construction and commissioning as required

• Must be proficient with typical office software including Microsoft Windows and Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Willingness to travel for client site visits and project meetings

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in electric utility industry, preferably in fast-paced consulting environment
• 500kV substation design experience

Compensation Range

USD $65,600.00 - USD $90,000.00 /Yr.
