Job summary

Olsson is seeking a Summer 2027 engineering student intern for its Substation and Power Generation (Power Delivery) Team. You will gain hands‑on, real‑world experience that complements classroom learning and helps shape your future in engineering.

Depending on your interests, you may learn CAD design processes and standards as well as substation design concepts, including protection for various voltage levels, and foundational analysis methods.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil or mechanical engineering.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Revit.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn CAD design processes and standards.
• Assist with substation structure and foundation design tasks.
• Interpret geotechnical information and basic steel member analysis.
• Support protection for medium voltage, high voltage and extra high voltage systems.
