Title: Substation P&C Drafting Technician

Location: Remote US

ICF is seeking a Substation P&C Drafting Technician to work with our engineering teams in supporting Substation Protection and Control (P&C) projects. They will assist in creating and modifying drawings using CAD software like AutoCad and/or Microstation while utilizing established CAD standards.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated learner who takes pride in the services provided, ensures the project is done right, and meets deadlines. They should be proactive, self-sufficient, and able to productively work remotely without direct supervision.

The Ideal Candidate

This role requires a basic understanding of drafting concepts, as you will help develop single line diagrams, schematics and elementaries. The candidate will also help organize project files, assist with quality checks and provide basic CAD-related technical support.

What you will be doing

• Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Create and modify detailed Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drawings of substations based on sketches or specifications provided by our engineers. These drawings can include:
• • One-line diagrams
  • AC/DC Schematics
  • Wiring diagrams
  • Three-line diagrams
  • Communications
  • Panel front views
• Prepare construction and demo drawings submission packages, ensuring adherence to project standards.
• Assist with conducting quality checks on final drawings and layouts.
• Assist with setting up and organizing project drawing files and schedules.
• Maintain and update CAD document archives and ensure accurate file management.
• Support engineers with shop drawing reviews and project coordination tasks.

What we need you to have (Minimum Qualifications)

• High School Diploma

What we would like you to have (Preferred Skills)

• Associate’s degree in Computer Aided Design/Drafting, Engineering Technology, or relevant CAD Certifications.
• 1+ years of experience in drafting or related fields (entry-level candidates with strong technical training will be considered).
• 1+ years of experience with AutoCAD or other similar applications, design, or modeling skills and/or design principles and practices
• 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Access
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision

There are multiple factors considered in determining final pay for a position, including relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies, geographic location, education, certifications, and contract provisions specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is: $37,831.00 - $64,313.00 Nationwide Remote Office (US99)
