The Manager, Substation Operations & Maintenance Contracts leads the lifecycle management of private substation O&M contracts for AREP’s data center projects. Regular travel to project sites and utility locations is required, reporting to the SVP,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in substation operations, T&D projects, high-voltage maintenance.
• Proven vendor/EPC oversight experience.
• Knowledge of NERC, OSHA, ANSI/IEEE specs.
• Proficient with SCADA and protective relays; interpret one-line diagrams.
• Familiar with DCIM platforms and asset management systems.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, and execute O&M contracts with vendors/subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with tenant SLAs and safety standards.
• Coordinate between tenants and O&M contractors for maintenance and emergencies.
• Establish KPIs for contractors and monitor performance to standards.
• Develop and manage contract schedules and critical-path resolutions.
• Manage contracts throughout project lifecycles and enforce terms.
• Build a network of substation O&M contractors across markets.
• Develop safety and access protocols for all substations.
• Review substation one-lines to confirm redundancy requirements.
• Conduct monthly inspections of active substation sites.
