Job summary

Western Area Power Administration is seeking an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic (Meter & Relay) Journeyman to maintain, repair, program, install and commission critical substation equipment. You will work with protection, control, metering and monitoring gear across power systems to ensure reliability.

Experience with polyphase revenue metering, HMIs, relays, and testing software is required. The role demands hands-on troubleshooting and precise calibration in a demanding utility

Qualifications

• Maintain, repair, modify, program, install and commission power system substation protection, control, monitoring and metering equipment.
• Develop software test routines for protective relays.
• Verify protective relay, transfer trip, and communication settings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, modify, program, install and commission power system substation protection, control, monitoring and metering equipment.
• Maintain, repair, install, program, and test polyphase revenue metering equipment, including electronic and microprocessor-based kilowatt-hour meters, digital demand recorders, panel meters, transducers, and instrument transformers.
• Maintain, repair, install, program, and test equipment used in controlling substation equipment, including HMI and communication processors.
• Maintain, repair, install, program, and test protective relays of various types and develop software test routines.
