Job summary

Western Area Power Administration is seeking an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic (Meter & Relay) Apprentice to help maintain, repair, program, and commission critical substation equipment used in power delivery.

You will handle polyphase metering devices, HMIs, and relay systems, developing test routines and ensuring accurate protection and communications settings under DOE supervision.

Qualifications

• Education cannot be substituted for experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, modify, program, install and commission substation protection, monitoring and metering equipment.
• Maintain, repair, install, program and test polyphase revenue metering devices including meters, recorders and transducers.
• Maintain, repair, install, program and test equipment used to control substation equipment including HMI and communications processors.
• Maintain, repair, install, program and test protective relays (electromechanical, electronic and microprocessor) and develop test routines.
• Verify protective relay, transfer trip and communication settings.
