Job summary

Overland Contracting Inc is seeking a Substation Helper 2 to assist journeymen in planning, lay-out, installation, testing and repair of substation components on sites across our projects. You will work with hand and power tools, handle high- and low-voltage tasks, and follow plans and codes to ensure safe, quality workmanship.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and hands-on training with opportunities for growth in the craft family within Black & Veatch operations.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working on substations or as an electrician or helper.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Use hand and power tools to measure, cut, assemble and install conduits and cable.
• Assist journeymen in laying out and installing electrical components.
• Participate in safety programs and report hazards to supervisors.
• Support testing and commissioning activities with appropriate instruments.
• Aid in site housekeeping and maintaining a safe work environment.
