Job summary

Entergy Mississippi, LLC is seeking a Utility Foreman - Grid to supervise and perform installations, maintenance, and testing of substation equipment. The foreman will oversee emergency restoration activities and promote safe work practices across crews.

The role requires field training, testing with specialized equipment, and serving as the professional contact for contractors and customers. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or related work experience.
• 5+ years in electric utility industry; 5-10 years in substation maintenance or construction preferred.
• Able to work with little direction with a high level of organization to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and perform all aspects of installation and maintenance of substation equipment. Supervise and organize emergency activities associated with the restoration of substation equipment.
• Provide field training to maintenance crews on a wide array of substation apparatus.
• Assist crews in performing equipment testing. Such tests include but not limited to Doble power factor, Doble breaker speed analyzer, Alber battery test set and Kelman Profiler.
• Provide a professional point of contact for contractors, internal/external customers, and design groups.
• Ensures compliance with Configuration Management and substation equipment maintenance procedures and processes. Facilitate and support activities associated with the realization of departmental and company goals.
• Assure a safe work environment exists and actively and progressively require safe work behaviors and actions from all assigned crews.
