ControlPoint Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Lead Substation Engineer in Mansfield, MA to provide project leadership within our Substation Engineering team.

The role requires direct experience with electric utility substations (4kV to 345kV), client-facing responsibilities, and the ability to manage projects to schedule. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required.
• PE licensure required; FE acceptable on path to PE.
• Minimum of ten years' experience in electric utility/substation engineering.
• Experience in utility substation engineering focusing on electrical or physical design aspects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead project engineering efforts from scoping through closeout.
• Provide guidance and mentorship within engineering and design teams.
• Perform quality control/assurance reviews.
• Coordinate with civil/structural design activities and protection/control interfaces.
• Maintain strong client focus and responsive service.
• Communicate clearly with internal teams and clients.

About The Opportunity

ControlPoint Technologies is seeking a Lead Substation Engineer to provide project leadership within our Substation Engineering team.

Candidates must have direct experience with substation projects for electric utilities. The projects will range from 4kV to 345kV and the candidate will be client facing and interface with the other disciplines. Project Management skills and ability to meet critical deadlines are required. Must be an outgoing team player with the ability to provide client confidence.

Technical Responsibilities

• Substation General Arrangement
• Control House Layout
• Plans and Sections
• Grounding
• Lightning Protection
• Conduit/trench Layout
• Material List
• Construction Specifications
• Prepare calculations for studies and reports (grounding, lightning protection, voltage drop, AC/DC load studies, etc.)
• Support/coordinate engineering and design related to Civil/Structural aspects of the designs
• Coordination with Protection Control

Engineering Responsibilities

• Project Engineering Lead

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Professional Engineering Licensure (PE) is required, will accept candidates with Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) on path to Professional Engineering licensure.
• Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in electric utility industry
• Experience in utility substation engineering with focus on electrical or physical aspects of design
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is a plus
• Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills

Salary

The base compensation range for this position is based on education, work experience, licensure, and qualifications.

• Base Compensation Annual Range: $125,000 - $180,000
