Job summary

Candidates should have 6 to 15 years of experience, a BE in Electrical, and proficiency in MicroStation and AutoCAD. Relocation to the customer office in Houston is expected. Visa is required.

Substation Engineer – Physical Design

Responsibilities

• Develop physical engineering and layout designs for outdoor Air-Insulated Substations (AIS) and indoor Gas-Insulated Substations (GIS)
• Work on substations ranging from 33kV up to 400kV / 765kV
• Optimize placement of primary equipment including:
  • Power Transformers
  • Circuit Breakers
  • Disconnectors
  • Instrument Transformers (CTs/VTs)
  • Surge Arresters
  • Busbar Systems
• Perform rigid and flexible busbar calculations
• Conduct short-circuit force, deflection, and thermal expansion analysis
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings and substation layouts
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams for project execution
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards and customer requirements
