DEPCOM Power, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, offers a Substation Engineer Intern role in Bedminster, NJ for Summer 2027. You will support substation design, prepare calculations, and participate in meetings with experienced engineers on utility-scale projects.

The position emphasizes exposure to power systems, high-voltage engineering, and tools like AutoCAD, ETAP, and PSCAD. Eligible students pursuing Electrical Engineering degrees can apply for full-time after graduation.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
• Eligible for full-time employment on or before Summer 2028.
• Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supporting the development and review of substation design documents, including one-line diagrams, general arrangements, grounding plans, and equipment layouts.
• Support technical reviews of vendor drawings and equipment submittals for substation components.
• Opportunity to participate in site visits to better understand project execution and cost drivers.
• Assist in preparing engineering calculations and study inputs such as grounding, AC/DC load, and short circuit studies.
• Participate in engineering meetings and help document key decisions, action items, and follow-ups.
• Gain exposure to substation design processes, power systems, and utility-scale infrastructure.
