Job summary

K&A Power Group in Oakbrook, IL is seeking a Substation Engineer to design substations and related electrical systems. You will prepare construction drawing packages, BOMs, and material procurement, ensuring accurate layouts and interconnections.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) and 5–10 years of substation design experience, with proficiency in power analysis software (SKM/Etap/EasyPower) and MS Office. Office visits required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited university.
5–10 years of professional substation design experience.
Experience with power analysis software (SKM, Etap, EasyPower) is preferred.
Proficient in MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Responsibilities

Detailed design of Electrical Engineering – Includes conceptual design and detailed estimates.
Substation Design – creation of substation construction drawing packages, BOMs and procurement of minor materials.
General arrangement/ physical and electrical layout, electrical equipment plans, elevation & section views.
Rigid bus calculations.
System Protection & Control (SP&C) Design – SP&C construction drawing packages and materials procurement.
Drawings shall include diagrams, relay one-line diagrams, connection diagrams, panel layouts and schedules.
