You will be trusted to:
- Assist experienced teammates with constructing electrical substations.
- Assist in the assembly and installation of all substation equipment to make operational.
- Assist with layout work using blueprints and other specifications.
- Assist in the maintenance and/or building of electrical structures, including high-voltage structures.
- Perform manual labor tasks, as necessary, like dig ditches or use pavement breakers
- Perform work by traveling independently or with a small crew to various locations (substations, power plants, etc.) as scheduled.
- Depending upon assigned area, climb up to heights of 100 feet to perform such duties.
- Operate and transport heavy equipment, aerial bucket equipment and cranes in performing substation construction tasks.
You qualify with:
- One or more years of experience in maintenance and/or construction of electrical power, transmission, distribution, substation and control equipment, and/or other types of electrical equipment, including experience reading blueprints. A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Class A Texas commercial driver’s license
You are a great fit with:
- Knowledge of electrical circuit theory and DC battery banks
- Intermediate skill in reading and interpreting diagrams and prints
- Skill in analysis of electrical and electronic control systems
- Skill in verbal and written communication, with team members, supervision / management and external organizations under normal and emergency conditions
- Basic skill level in office productivity applications (such as email, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.)
- Ability to work in a team environment
