Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation in Bloomington, MN is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to lead substation projects, coordinate design teams, and deliver high‑voltage solutions up to 765 kV within EPC environments.

You will develop protection and control designs, yard layouts, and BOMs, collaborate with clients and vendors, and mentor junior staff while contributing to business development and project budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
• Active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer-of-record requirements.
• Must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding (background check, drug screen, MVR).

Responsibilities

• Provide project coordination, guidance and expertise on assigned substation projects.
• Develop protection and control design deliverables including relays, one-line diagrams, and wiring for HV substations.
• Prepare electrical equipment specifications and Bills of Materials (BOM) for procurement and construction.
• Coordinate project activities with clients, vendors, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
• Mentor junior team members and manage design budgets and schedules.
