Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Staff Electrical Designer to develop electrical schematics, grid layouts and power systems for a diverse project portfolio in Fort Worth, TX. The role involves creating and refining 2D/3D designs while adhering to company and client standards.

You will collaborate with project managers and engineers, prepare construction documentation, and ensure compliance with design codes. Travel up to 5% is expected, with full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree with related experience, or 9 years progressive detailing.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical schematics, grid layouts, power systems, lighting, protection and controls.
• Plan drawings for production work including problem analysis and design layout.
• Execute electrical design assignments using standard techniques and refine sketches.
• Update designs and redlines on ongoing projects.
• Analyze reports, drawings and tests to plan and design projects.
• Incorporate design codes and specifications into requirements.
• Review drawings for quality within budget and schedule.
• Compute conduit/grounding layouts and relay schematics.
• Organize revisions and project documents.
• Communicate with project clients clearly and concisely.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
