Job summary

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is seeking a Substation Design Engineer in Madison, WI.

You will participate in conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of new and upgraded substations, including material procurement and commissioning support through energization. The role involves delivering physical, electrical, civil and communication design studies, drawings and specifications, and coordinating with project engineers and discipline groups to ensure quality and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Design engineering experience is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organization and planning abilities.
• Willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules.
• Progress toward PE licensure encouraged.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Applicants must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Subject to client-mandated drug and background checking.

Responsibilities

• Conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of substations.
• Material procurement, construction and commissioning/startup support through energization.
• Development and delivery of physical, electrical, civil and communication design studies, drawings, exhibits and specs.
• Coordination, quality control and oversight of designers, drafters and support staff.
