Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Electrical Construction to lead medium to large electrical infrastructure projects with a focus on substation construction. You will manage planning through commissioning, ensuring safety, on-schedule delivery, and adherence to budget, quality, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities include leading design-build substation efforts, managing budgets, coordinating procurement, and overseeing vendor relations, with travel to project sites

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical construction with at least 5 years in project management; substation projects required.
• Proven expertise in substation PM including design review, construction methods, protection & control considerations, and commissioning.
• PMP certification or equivalent preferred.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE, utility practices, and regulatory permitting.
• Experience with project controls tools and cost estimating and scheduling (Primavera P6, MS Project, SAP or equivalent).
• Track record of managing project budgets, contracts, and change management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills; ability to build consensus.
• Safety-focused with related certifications (e.g., OSHA 30-hour); travel willingness; PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead project delivery for electrical construction projects, including substation design-build and construction, from initiation through closeout.
• Develop, maintain and drive project schedules and budgets; forecast costs and manage cash flow to targets.
• Oversee procurement, contractor selection, subcontractor management, and vendor relations; negotiate contracts and changes.
• Provide technical oversight for electrical and substation construction activities; review drawings and testing plans.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, HSE programs, utility standards, NEC/NESC, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate site activities, manage sequencing, resources, and daily progress to minimize delays and risks.
• Serve as primary client contact; present updates, status reports, and risk assessments to leadership and customers.
• Implement quality control, inspections, and punch-list management to meet project requirements.
• Lead commissioning, energization, turnover activities, and training for operations teams.
• Mentor project engineers, construction supervisors, and field personnel; promote continuous improvement.
