Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Transmission Substation Equipment Verification specialist to ensure equipment is commissioned in accordance with project contracts and specifications, and tested per supplier requirements within the engineer's discipline.

This full-time, on-site role in Minnesota involves setting up equipment, performing calibration and testing of relays, RTU, RTAC, and ensuring safe operations. You will prepare testing documentation and support safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search).
• OSHA 10 Hour Training is required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Sets up equipment.
• Performs equipment calibration.
• Confirms device set points per design.
• Performs alarms checks to SCADA per substation commissioning package.
• Loads and tests settings and programming in protection relays, RTU, RTAC.
• Verifies equipment installation per design.
• Walks down substation for erection completion.
• Identifies damaged or failed devices for replacements within completion schedule.
• Prepares testing and commissioning documentation.
