Job summary

You will manage a manageable caseload, identify recovery barriers, and offer resources to help clients achieve recovery goals.

The ideal candidate is compassionate with strong communication skills and experience with substance abuse.

Qualifications

• Valid state licensure for counseling (CA or applicable state).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Experience with substance use treatment preferred.
• Able to sit for long periods and operate a computer.
• Provide services at both locations.
• Stand/walk up to 15-20% of time; lift up to 30-50 lbs occasionally.
• HIPAA compliance and privacy knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to assess substance issues and identify recovery barriers.
• Write treatment and recovery plans.
• Educate clients on coping mechanisms.
• Conduct group therapy sessions.
• Lead outreach addiction education programs and support groups.
• Track and analyze patient progress.
• Update the legal system about patient progress.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join our team! As a Substance Use Disorder Counselor on the team, you will be handling a manageable caseload of patients looking to you for treatment and help to overcome a wide variety of addiction issues. Your role will be to support and uplift your clients, offering resources and support for them, creating and implementing treatment options, and identifying core issues that could be contributing to their abuse. The ideal candidate is compassionate, has excellent communication skills, and has experience working with people struggling with addiction and abuse.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to assess their substance issues and identify recovery interference situations
• Write treatment and recovery plans
• Educate clients on coping mechanisms
• Conduct group therapy sessions for patients
• Lead outreach addiction education programs and develop support groups for patients
• Track and analyze patient recovery progression
• Update the legal system about patient's progress
• Help clients plan for discharge from facilities
• Communicate with clients and family members
• Identify recovery interference situations
• Develop patient crisis management plan and intervene during emergency situations
• Work with clients to find or maintain employment
• Comply with HIPAA (CFR 42, part 2)
• Additional Duties as Needed
