Job summary

Shorewood Behavioral Health in Madison, WI is seeking a Substance Use Counselor (SAC/SACIT/CSAC/LPC) for full-time work. The role centers on delivering individual and group counseling to support recovery from opioid use disorder and other substance use issues.

You will complete assessments, develop treatment plans, document care, participate in crisis intervention, and coordinate with referral sources and insurance carriers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in social or health services preferred; two+ years counseling experience required.
• Master's degree in social or health services with one+ year professional experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual counseling sessions and group or family sessions, under supervision, and document as required.
• Co-facilitate group or family sessions and assist with modifying problem behaviors.
• Perform initial and follow-up assessments; prepare treatment plans for assigned patients.
• Ensure documentation of patient care, treatment and incidents is timely and clear.
• Provide crisis intervention and coordinate aftercare planning as needed.
• Liaise with referral sources and insurance carriers; may perform case management duties.
