Providence Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), part of Acadia Healthcare, is hiring a Substance Use Counselor in Providence, RI. You will deliver individual and group counseling to support opioid use disorder recovery and coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes MAT familiarity, crisis intervention, and thorough documentation. Requires HS diploma; advanced degrees preferred. Competitive benefits and opportunities for CEUs available.

Qualifications

• HS graduate or GED equivalent required.
• Prefer Associate’s, Bachelor's, or Master’s degree in social or health services field.
• Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
• Experience conducting individual and group counseling sessions focused on substance use recovery.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices such as CBT, MI, and relapse prevention techniques.
• Documentation experience following state and federal guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, compassionate counseling in individual and group sessions.
• Plan, oversee, facilitate and document patient recovery.
• Co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions as needed.
• Ensure timely and clear documentation of patient care, treatment and incidents.
