Job summary

Health Care Resource Centers is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to assist patients through medically assisted programs and provide coping strategies for opioid addiction. You will conduct group and individual sessions, evaluate progress, and collaborate with doctors and therapists to optimize treatment outcomes.

Responsibilities include initial assessments, treatment planning, counseling, and patient education.

Qualifications

• Must hold Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) certification.
• Preferred: LICSW/LCSW, LMHC and/or LADC.
• Demonstrated counseling experience.
• Experience working with chemically dependent individuals.
• Bi-Lingual preferred.
• Background check and drug screen satisfactory.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility.
• Facilitates and reviews the initial treatment plan with each patient.
• Completes Bio-psychosocial assessments.
• Provides individual and group counseling and coordinates services.
• Develops/participates in patient teaching projects and responses to grievances.
• Performs other related duties as directed by supervision.

Position Overview:

Substance Abuse Counselor will be in charge with assisting patients through medically assisting programs and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. Counselor conducts group sessions and individual sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Additionally, counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during therapy. Substance abuse counselors may also need to collaborate with doctors, nurses and therapists for patients’ therapy and treatment for best overall outcome.

Responsibilities:

• Conducts individual initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination
• Facilitates, establishes and reviews with each patient the initial treatment plan
• Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment.
• Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
• Develops and participates in individual or group patient teaching projectsRespond, as needed, to patient grievances and complaints
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor

Qualifications:

• Required: Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor certificatio n (CADC).
• Preferred: LCSW/LICSW, LMHC and/or LADC.
• Demonstrated counseling experience
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals.
• Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population
• Bi-Lingual preferred
• Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen
