Job summary

Highland Rivers Behavioral Health in Cedartown, GA seeks a qualified counselor to join our substance use and mental health programs. You will conduct groups, individual counseling, and psychoeducation per Georgia licensure standards, maintaining treatment plans and documentation.

The role requires a 4-year degree, active CADC/CADCII or licensure, and at least 1 year of relevant experience; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. We offer strong benefits and professional supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Human Services, Criminology or related field.
• Active Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) certification or valid Georgia licensure (LAPC, LPC, LMSW, LCSW, LMFT).
• Criminal background check clearance, official transcripts, valid driver’s license/ID, drug screen, TB test, and eligible 7-year MVR.
• 1 year of experience in mental health or substance use disorder field.
• Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct groups and individual counseling.
• Provide psychoeducation per program licensure.
• Maintain Service Plan development and required documentation.
• Ensure caseload compliance with treatment plans and policies.
• Participate in referral follow-ups and treatment team meetings.
• Support monthly treatment plan reviews and discharge planning.
