BayMark Health Services is seeking a compassionate Substance Use Counselor in Massachusetts to support patients through medically assisted programs and coping strategies for opioid addiction. The role includes group and individual sessions, crisis management, and progress evaluation.

The counselor collaborates with doctors, nurses, and therapists to optimize treatment outcomes and to ensure comprehensive patient care throughout the treatment continuum.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher required with relevant counseling experience.
• Current certifications and supervision experience per agency requirements.
• Experience with chemically dependent individuals is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial assessment and eligibility interviews.
• Develops initial treatment plans with each patient.
• Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment.
• Provide individual and group counseling; coordinate services.
• Engages families in the recovery process when possible.
• Responds to patient grievances and complaints.
• Develops aftercare and discharge plans.
• Per supervisor guidance, performs related duties.
