Job summary

Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• The counselor provides assessment and treatment as well as education and
  training to clients and their families. The appropriate candidate has experience
  working with clients with co-occurring mental illness.
• Specifically, the substance use counselor will be responsible for:
• Conducting substance use assessments and comprehensive psychosocial evaluations.
• Meeting with clients for ongoing individual counseling
• Leading group counseling sessions
• Providing crisis intervention as needed.
• Providing psychoeducation to clients and their family members
• Maintain case records in EHR to ensure continued treatment planning, referrals, and follow up
• Providing referrals to other providers within the agency and outside agencies as needed and monitoring clients' compliance with referral.
• Coordinating client care with other behavioral health care providers including psychiatrists, behavioral health therapists, case managers and primary and specialty care providers.
• Other responsibilities as needed.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• CASAC-T, CASAC License or LM/CSW or LMHC
• 1-4 years of experience
• Must be comfortable utilizing telemedicine platforms and video conferencing systems
