Job summary

The Salvation Army Harbor Light is seeking a licensed and experienced clinician to provide individual and group counseling within our treatment program in Michigan. You will maintain client records, follow treatment plans, and coordinate with referral sources to secure authorizations and aftercare services.

Responsibilities include participating in team meetings, delivering educational sessions, documenting discharge plans, and contributing to program policies.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a Masters degree in Behavioral Science (Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology).
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience working with substance abuse populations.
  • TB Test and police clearance required.
  • Authorization to work within The United States.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual, group, and educational counseling sessions
  • Maintain case records in accordance with Harbor Light standards
  • Follows up to determine reliability and validity of individual client treatment plan established; makes recommendations regarding modification to services and service delivery
  • Maintain contact with referral sources, submitting requests for authorization for treatment as well as required reports
  • Complete discharge documentation on each client to include aftercare plan, referral and letters to referring agencies
  • Participates in the review of all clinical issues, activities and program policies and procedures
  • Distribute/collect treatment satisfaction surveys at beginning of treatment, mid treatment and at discharge
  • Attends all clinical staff meetings, and team conferences
  • Participates in educational courses, seminars, workshops, current literature and in-service meetings to enhance treatment skills
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Complete discharge documentation on each client to include aftercare plan, referral and letters to referring agencies
  • Participates in the review of all clinical issues, activities and program policies and procedures
  • Distribute/collect treatment satisfaction surveys at beginning of treatment, mid treatment and at discharge
  • Attends all clinical staff meetings, and team conferences
  • Participates in educational courses, seminars, workshops, current literature and in-service meetings to enhance treatment skills
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

  • Must possess a Masters degree in Behavioral Science (Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology)
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience working with substance abuse populations

  • Authorization to work within The United States

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Must possess approved MCBAP certification (CADC, CAADC, etc), approved Development Plan, or ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment
  • Must possess State of Michigan license (LLMSW, LMSW, LPC, LLPC)
