Job summary

Bernalillo County's Behavioral Health division seeks a Substance Abuse Technician to support individuals needing social, behavioral health, or substance abuse assistance. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two (2) years of work experience involving substance abuse, healthcare, law enforcement, emergency management, or corrections.
• Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience.

Responsibilities

• Obtains client information through interview, assessment and case history; assists clients through detoxification and recovery.
• Administers scheduled program curriculum and activities for treatment and rehabilitation of substance abuse.
• Gathers data to track treatment reliability and validity; makes recommendations for service modification.
• Processes new clients, orientation to rules, and assists with daily activities and information literature.
• Provides education to individuals and groups in the community and facilitates group presentations.
