Job summary

Bernalillo County is seeking a Substance Abuse Technician to provide professional-level support in treatment and rehabilitation for individuals struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. The role delivers detoxification services, facilitates activities, and monitors client progress per treatment plans, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of related work experience; CNA/EMT preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of work experience involving substance abuse, healthcare, law enforcement, emergency management, or corrections.

Responsibilities

• Obtains client information through interview, assessment and case history; supports clients through detoxification and recovery.
• Administers scheduled program curriculum and activities for treatment and rehabilitation of substance abuse.
• Gathers data to track treatment reliability/validity and suggests service modifications.
• Processes new clients, including clothing issuance and orientation to facility rules.
• Educates individuals and groups in the community and conducts group presentations/workshops.
