Job Description

The Substance Abuse Specialist understands and carries out the philosophy of the ACT model and participates with the treatment team in delivering ACT services focused on substance abuse. Within the parameters of supportive treatment, provides substance abuse counseling. Provides care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in the assigned area.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitates other aspects of clinical services as necessary.
  • Maintains a supportive therapeutic relationship with clients.
  • Maintains contact with appropriate agencies to sustain engagement and progress.
  • Completes assessments and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Assists the team in crisis intervention and participates in on-call rotation.
  • Participates in daily clinical meetings.
  • Collaborates with other ACT team members.
  • Provides substance abuse education and consultation to consumers and families.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or necessary.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree required in Psychology, Social Work, or related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of clinical training experience with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness or dual diagnoses; interest or experience in psychiatric research is highly desirable.
  • CASAC license preferred.
Additional Information

Our organization is committed to fostering an inclusive environment and equal opportunity employment. The salary range for this role is $58,661 - $74,250 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
