Job summary

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial ASAM assessments and intake paperwork for substance abuse assessments.
• Provide case management or therapy as needed.
• Screen referral calls and gather referral information.
• Check Medicaid/Magellan status and verify insurance details.
• Complete initial authorization and ISP before end of interview.
• Prepare intake notes for all clients assessed; perform other duties as qualified.

We are seeking a licensed or licensed-eligible (LPC, LSATP, or LCSW) professional to join our team IMMEDIATELY as a part-time to full time assessor for multiple programs including Substance Abuse (primarily) and Behavioral Health services in the Greater Richmond area (includes Chesterfield, VA-main office location).

JOB SUMMARY

The individual hired for this position will conduct ASAM assessments and other mental health services assessments as scheduled, on average 4 days per week. The primary responsibilities are:

• Complete initial ASAM assessment and intake paperwork of clients referred for a substance abuse assessment.
• May also provide case management or therapy as needed.
• Screening referral calls.
• Request referral information (if from the hospital) and/or fill out a referral statement with pertinent information.
• Check Medicaid Status on Medicaid and Magellan Websites. (Magellan has a recent address, which is an important piece of information). Note: which type of insurance do they have to determine the expected stay.
• Completes initial authorization(s) as outlined by Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS).
• Complete Initial ISP before the end of the assessment interview with the client.
• Completes intake note on all clients assessed for substance abuse services.
• Other duties based on Experience and License

QUALIFICATIONS

Licensed and in good standing with the Virginia Department of Health Professionals in psychology, social work, or human services field. This documentation will be due upon accepting the position.
