Job summary

A leading correctional services organization in East St. Louis is seeking a candidate to provide Substance Abuse information and facilitate educational presentations. The ideal candidate should possess a high school diploma, and preferably a Bachelor's degree in social or human services. Certification in Alcohol and Drug Counseling is required within two years. This role involves maintaining relationships with other professionals and participating in training related to substance abuse. Pay is $19.00 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience within a correctional setting preferred.
• Experience providing human service functions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide relevant Substance Abuse information for class curriculum.
• Facilitate didactic educational presentations, group counseling, and individual counseling sessions.
• Select and recommend new instructional materials and programs for use in the substance abuse program.
• Maintain knowledge of new developments in the field of substance abuse.
• Maintain a collegian relationship with other substance abuse professionals.
• Complete required testing, assessment, and psychosocial history on incoming residents.
• Participate in related training for substance abuse.

Education
