Job summary

Borinquen Medical Centers in Miami, FL seeks a full-time STOPP-E COUNSELOR to provide screening, assessment, counseling, and HIV/Hepatitis education to individuals and families facing substance abuse, mental health, trauma, and co-occurring disorders.

The role involves coordinating referrals, conducting various therapy modalities, and documenting in Athena EHR. Collaboration with the STOPP and Behavioral Health teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in counseling, social work, clinical psychology, sociology, behavioral science, marriage and family therapy or related field with some counseling experience.
• CAP preferred.
• Proof of certifications and licensure or intern status required at time of application.
• Bilingual Spanish/English or Haitian-Creole/English.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Handle information with high level of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Interview, screen, and assess clients with substance abuse and mental health needs.
• Provide pretreatment and risk reduction counseling using CRCS.
• Administer intake and follow-up assessments and document in EHR timely.
• Provide individual, couples, group, and family therapy.
• Coordinate referrals to residential treatment facilities and other services.
• Promote trauma-focused counseling and education.
• Work with STOPP and Behavioral Health teams to support clients.
